Loopt Educates the Next Generation of Textile Professionals

The Loopt Foundation is proudly partnering with The University of Oregon’s Sports Product Management Program to develop and implement the SPM 610: Sustainability in Sports Products course, providing students with the fundamentals of sustainability pertaining to the apparel and footwear industries.

The University of Oregon partnered with the sports and outdoor product industry’s best to create a Master of Science in Sports Product Management. Its mission is to build the next generation of leaders in the sports product industry.

Throughout the course, industry experts in circularity, chemistry, materials, and production present current practices, share their professional experiences, as well as discuss impacts and potential solutions. By the end of the course, students are able to combine this knowledge to create a product within a Life Cycle Sustainable Analysis framework.

Loopt Foundation is proud to announce that this dynamic partnership is continuing through 2023. We are now working to leverage this curriculum into additional partnerships with institutions serving the next generation of textile professionals.  We are also working to include customized versions with new post secondary audiences such as the Lewis and Clark Entrepreneurship program and professional environments through corporate learning and development programs.
