With the help of our Technical Advisory Committee and external partners, we are creating international education programs focused on zero waste, upcycling, and the circular economy with dynamic programs designed for industry, students, and consumers.

Our Programs:


CJ’s Training Camp: Sustainability

Target audience: Ages 13 - 18

  • Recent studies have demonstrated students are aware of sustainability, believe it is important, but critically don’t know exactly what it is, how it affects daily life, or how to pursue it in specific areas. Loopt Foundation, CJ McCollum Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of Portland Metropolitan Area, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and Looptworks have partnered together to address this foundational need.

  • CJ’s Training Camp: Sustainability introduces students (focusing on those from historically marginalized communities) to sustainability concepts through a dynamic program using apparel as a vehicle. Learning is done through a global exploration of the three pillars of sustainability: economic development, social development, and environmental protection.

    • How clothes are made

    • Understanding the people who make them

    • Perform a life cycle analysis on NBA star CJ McCollum’s game jersey

    • Develop their own local sustainable service project aimed at reducing the environmental and health impacts of apparel

Sustainability in Sports Products

Target audience: Age 18+

  • The University of Oregon has partnered with the sports and outdoor product industry’s best to create a Master of Science in Sports Product Management. Its mission is to build the next generation of leaders in the sports product industry.

  • The Loopt Foundation is proudly partnering with this program to develop and implement the Sustainability in Sports Products course, providing students with the fundamentals of sustainability pertaining to the apparel and footwear industries. Throughout the course, industry experts in circularity, chemistry, materials, and production present current practices, share their professional experiences, as well as discuss impacts and potential solutions.  By the end of the course, students are able to combine this knowledge to create a product within a Life Cycle Sustainable Analysis framework.
